It’s a pretty easy at-home system. All you have to do is remember to brush your teeth beforehand and wash the plastic trays after every use. For the best results, you should wear the whitening trays and gel for at least an hour a day for a few weeks. The plastic guard can feel a bit awkward at first, and it might take some time to get used to it. We often suggest wearing the trays while you watch TV or read.
Correctly Using the Teeth Whitening Kit
Our take home kit has two parts: plastic trays that slide over your top and bottom teeth and the whitening gel. The first step is making a mold of your teeth that the plastic trays will slide over. The trays are made of thin plastic (much like Invisalign). Place a small bead of whitening gel on each tooth of the plastic tray and wear it for at least one hour a day for a few weeks. The time range depends on the desired shade of your teeth.
You have to be careful about how much gel you apply as well. If you put in too much it spills out of the top, which can irritate your gums (and wastes gel!). We advise using a tooth brush or your finger to gently brush away any excess gel that gets on your gums. After you take the plastic guard off, you should rinse with warm water to help get the taste out of your mouth. The teeth whitening kit is very effective and safe, and soon you will have bright, white teeth in the comfort of your own home.
