Professional Teeth Whitening: Zoom! Whitening

Dazzling white teeth are a sight to behold! They make a lasting impression on other people and can really make you love the face you see in the mirror. Getting really white teeth can be a major hassle in today’s fast-paced world filled with coffee, tea, and artificial colors that stain your teeth and lead to unsightly discoloration. You might want white teeth, but struggle to keep up with a long run of whitening strips, bleaching or a consistent whitening toothpaste regimen. Philips Zoom! Whitening is one of the professional teeth whitening methods that we provide, and it offers a different, quicker way to whiten your teeth with ease. Where over the counter tooth whitening options can be ineffective and hard to deal with, our professional solution is simple and gets the job done. Whiter teeth are possible, and our cosmetic dentistry experts can help you get the results you’re looking for!

 How does it work?

Zoom! Whitening uses a whitening gel that is placed on your teeth and is then beamed with a powerful LED light in order to whiten your teeth. The process takes between one to two hours, and at the end of your visit, you will have visibly whiter teeth. As part of your Zoom! professional teeth whitening visit, we also make you custom whitening trays, so that you can continue to boost, brighten and maintain your new, beautiful smile month after month, without having to rely on less effective home teeth whitening alternatives.

What should I expect?

There are a few things you should know before getting the Zoom! professional teeth whitening treatment so you won’t be caught off guard:

  • Like many professional whitening products and whitening kits, the whitening process takes more than one application: You’ll get your treatments in 15-minute segments with new gel application every segment.
  • “Zingers”: Some patients may experience sensitivity in their teeth during the procedure. The sensation will be short and will subside over the course of a day, and you won’t have sensitive teeth permanently. You may feel little “zingers” during the process and up to a day afterward. Zoom is not a particularly painful procedure. It may cause sensitivity during and temporarily after the procedure but almost everyone tolerates the treatment very well, with little to no discomfort.
  • For optimal results, stay away from coffee, tea, cola, or any other staining food and drink for at least two days, as you would after any whitening procedure.
