White teeth are truly a sight to behold.  They make a dazzling impression and can really make a positive difference in your life.  There are a few safe ways to whiten your teeth, such as whitening toothpaste or whitening gel, but those methods take time and effort, and often aren’t as effective as professional teeth whitening treatments.  We offer a few different in-office whitening options that can make your teeth 4 to 8 shades brighter, and can last up to three years.

Teeth Whitening Methods: Zoom 2 and Britesmiles Treatments:

Both methods work on a similar principle of putting a light activated gel or paste on your teeth and then exposing it to a laser for about an hour. During the process, it’s possible you might feel some sensitivity.  It is transient, however, and will generally go away shortly after the procedure.  Your teeth will also be temporarily sensitive to temperature, so just be gentle with them. Stay away from staining foods for at least 24 hours after you leave the office.   Staining foods include items like coffee, tea, red wine, jellies/jams, tomato sauce, ketchup, etc.  Try to eat “white” foods, such as potatoes or pasta with Alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce. You will see results immediately, with continued improvement over the next two weeks. The effects will last for many months, or even years, if you take care good care of your teeth.  Some people have reported needing a second treatment after a year while others have been satisfied with their results for up to three years.  It all depends on how you take care of your teeth.
